Christantus Uche Ignites Straightforward Palace Victory at Shelbourne.

Despite entering their maiden continental adventure, Crystal Palace are adapting very quickly. Without star figures like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the London club left Dublin with a comfortable result that virtually secures them a place in the Europa Conference League playoffs.

A further three points in their upcoming match against Finland's KuPS should be enough to secure direct entry to the last 16, particularly following a prior stumble against Strasbourg.

Squad Members Grasp the Opportunity

This match offered a platform for several Palace's fringe talent to shine. Christantus Uche, in only his second beginning since arriving on loan from Getafe, notched the account with a well-taken goal. Forward Eddie Nketiah added a another, scoring for the second game in match.

A Shelbourne team that had finished their league season proved no match against a mostly rotated Palace outfit. The visitors were already depleted by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are out with leg problems.

Control Established from the Outset

Shelbourne were clinging on for dear life. Defender Kameron Ledwidge was lucky to avoid a booking for a couple of robust challenges on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards struck the woodwork with a header from a corner.

The contest was effectively over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past some comically weak challenges before coolly dispatching a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.

After the break, coach Oliver Glasner took the chance to withdraw key players like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse almost scoring his first touch, but saw his shot blocked.

The youngster was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one attempt crash off both posts before being gathered on the line. Uche then blazed a glaring chance, showing there is still scope for development in his game.

A solitary worry for Palace was a late injury to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This allowed 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to earn his first-team debut, rounding off an otherwise perfect evening for the visiting side.
